SUBU has launched two new colorways for its ORIGINALS F-LINE sandal, designed specifically for the 2026 fall and winter season. The Lavender and Matcha versions are engineered as cold-weather sandals that can be worn on bare feet, according to the brand's report on Hypebeast.

The F-LINE sandal moves away from the typical warm-weather slide. Its construction aims to trap heat where conventional open footwear fails. The key to this function is a specialized four-layer insole.

Four-Layer Insole and Construction

This multi-layered footbed provides both cushioning and thermal insulation. SUBU states the stacked layers deliver a plush, settled feel intended to be more comfortable than standard house footwear. The structure is designed to hug the entire foot for a secure fit, actively holding it in place rather than merely covering it.

Warmth is further enhanced by the materials surrounding this base. The interior uses a brushed, napped fabric lining. This lining surrounds bare skin with a down-like softness typically associated with winter jackets. It is this feature that makes barefoot use viable in colder temperatures, allowing for quick outdoor errands without the discomfort of a normal sandal.

Functional Materials and Design

The outer components complete the functional package. A nylon upper with a slight sheen handles the elements. The insole is made from brushed polyester, while the sole use synthetic rubber for grip and durability. SUBU describes the result as a self-contained system where each layer has a specific role in keeping the foot warm, cushioned, and stable.

Lavender and Matcha Colorways

Color defines the two new releases within this shared technical build. The Lavender option is presented as a soft, pale purple. Its nylon gloss is said to prevent the color from becoming overly sweet, offering a lighter note for a season often dominated by dark footwear.

Matcha takes a different approach. It is a deep, calm green inspired by tones from traditional Japanese homes. The brand positions this color as understated yet distinctive against the common winter palette of black and gray.
