Fit Care: Tomorrowland has launched its first-ever sneaker, the WR1

Tomorrowland has unveiled the WR1, its inaugural sneaker designed for daily life beyond the festival grounds. Developed over more than a year, the shoe features soft, organic lines and a nature-inspired sole.

The WR1's defining characteristic is its sculpted sole unit. It draws direct inspiration from the fine, radiating ridges found on the underside of a mushroom cap. This natural pattern is translated into a curved, layered form rather than a flat base. The organic design language extends into the upper, with flowing lines and stacked textures creating a soft, sculptural silhouette. Tomorrowland intends for this timeless shape to remain in its collection year after year.

From Festival to Everyday

Despite its origins, the WR1 is built for versatility. It is meant to move seamlessly from a city walk to a night out. Branding is deliberately understated, with the Tomorrowland name kept subtle, allowing the shoe's form to convey its identity instead of relying on prominent logos. The design philosophy centers on the global Tomorrowland community, offering a tangible item to build a sense of belonging irrespective of annual travel to the flagship event in Belgium.

A Growing Lifestyle Ecosystem

The sneaker launch represents the culmination of a long-term brand expansion. Starting over fifteen years ago with simple logo apparel, Tomorrowland has grown into a full lifestyle operation. It now encompasses fashion, accessories, fragrance, wellness, and homeware, with past collaborators including Grown Alchemist, Baobab Collection, and Serax. The WR1, developed in-house, officially opens the footwear category for the brand.

The shoe debuted at Tomorrowland Belgium 2026. Festival attendees were the first to discover and order it through custom-built stores designed as sculptural extensions of the sneaker's aesthetic. A launch campaign features artists Lost Frequencies, Miss Monique, and NOVAH, who embody the movement and connection central to the WR1's concept.

Global Release and Availability

Following its festival debut, the WR1 will be available through a wide network of physical retail locations and pop-up activations. The rollout strategy includes several key cities and events worldwide.

A documentary supporting the launch will screen in Bangkok, Shanghai, and London, adding a cultural dimension to the release. Further activations are still to be confirmed.

The global pre-sale for the Tomorrowland WR1 begins on September 13. A pre-registration campaign opens in September via the Tomorrowland online store, which will serve as the primary sales channel after the pre-sale period concludes.
