Adidas has unveiled seven new sneaker releases for the week, spanning collaborations and archive revivals. The lineup includes the Larry June Adistar Control 5, the Simone Rocha Taekwondo Ballerina, and Pharrell Williams's PW Water Moc.
Larry June Adistar Control 5
Releasing on September 12, the Larry June Adistar Control 5 applies a bold colorway to a classic gym trainer silhouette. The shoe features a bright Red, Solar Slime, and Clay fade effect on a breathable upper, complete with a 3M back tab. Highsnobiety's editors note the design is intended for laid-back living.
Simone Rocha Taekwondo Ballerina
Irish designer Simone Rocha has reimagined the Taekwondo ballerina with a gothic twist. The model is available now. It uses an all-leather upper with ribbon laces, diamond toe details, and an embellished back tab, finished with a red bow. The editors call it "the ultimate ballet sneaker of ballet sneakers."
Archive and Hybrid Models
Five other sneakers are also available for immediate purchase. The Handball Spezial Loafer presents a chocolate brown upper blending sneaker comfort with a dress shoe aesthetic. The Ghost Sprint Shoes revive a quirky 2000s runner with a two-lace design and a furry brown upper.
The Tokyo Shoes, a streetwear staple, feature a premium leather upper and reinforced toe-box in a deep brown colorway. The PW Water Moc, linked with Pharrell Williams, draws from the adidas archive with a bungee-cord fastening and perforated upper. Finally, the Barreda Decode Shoes offer a boat shoe-inspired hybrid with a moccasin toe and wrap-around lace upper on a chunky sole.
