Adidas will globally release its Futurecool 3D-printed sneaker in April 2027. Ahead of the launch, Dazed Studio produced a campaign, styled by the publication's Senior Fashion Editor-at-Large Mirko Pedone, to demonstrate the shoe's versatility beyond its technical origins.

The campaign, photographed by Simon Birk, aims to move the sculptural Futurecool silhouette from the lab into everyday wardrobes. Pedone explains that adidas products have historically been versatile. He approached the styling as a fun challenge to show one item in different contexts.

Pedone took an instinctive approach. He wanted the looks to feel relatable and show how the sneaker could work across various styles, not just sporty ones. The final campaign images are designed to capture that versatility.

Menswear Look

For a key men's look, Pedone highlighted red adidas shorts. He calls them one of the season's trendiest pieces and the right benchmark in the debate about men's shorts length. The look layers lightweight technical fabrics for the tops, including a coat, a windbreaker, and a shirt, all featuring pops of colour. These pieces are meant to be styled and mixed freely.

Womenswear Look

After trying different options, Pedone selected a sporty but elevated women's look that felt effortless. The outfit features an orange vintage Stone Island technical top. This piece was courtesy of the SI archive Arco Maher in London.

Smart-Casual Approach

Another men's look builds a "smart" outfit that doesn't feel too formal or forced with the sneaker. Lightweight technical fabrics were again core. Pedone sourced pieces from promising young London designers.

An unlined lightweight technical blazer came from Keogh Dewar. A sheer technical white shirt was from Luca Fabry. These were mixed with adidas items. The general brief called for muted colours with pops of colour throughout. Pedone added a rubber Luca Fabry belt to give the look a unique, playful twist.

For a chance to secure a pair before the global release, adidas is running a raffle on the CONFIRMED app on August 28, 2026. The Futurecool sneaker builds on the brand's earlier Climacool model, which was also fully 3D-printed but focused on breathability. The new design expands the technical possibilities into a more sculptural form.
