Sneakers: Nike is releasing two premium versions of the Air Max Goadome Low this October

Nike will release two crocodile-embossed versions of the Air Max Goadome Low on October 6. The sneakers, priced at $175 USD, will be available via the SNKRS app.

These new iterations aim for a more upscale aesthetic, applying a leather treatment typically found on dress shoes to the outdoor-inspired silhouette. The core rugged features of the original boot, including its lugged rubber outsole and visible Air cushioning, are retained in the low-top design.

Crocodile Embossing and Design Details

The defining characteristic of both models is the textured crocodile-embossed leather that covers nearly the entire upper. The embossing is not uniform; the scale pattern is larger and more pronounced on the side panels and heel, becoming finer and smoother towards the toe box. This variation in texture prevents a flat appearance. Perforations along the sides and collar provide ventilation and further break up the pattern.

Colorway Breakdown

Each colorway executes the premium concept differently. The all-black pair maintains a tonal look, with matching laces, stitching, and lining. Its Swoosh branding near the heel is subtle, blending into the leather, and the primary visible branding is an ACG logo molded into the midsole.

The 'Midnight Navy' version introduces contrast. It pairs a navy upper with navy laces and tongue, but features a black lining and a black sole unit. A small metallic silver Swoosh on the lateral heel provides a flash of shine against the matte blue leather.

Technical Specifications and Heritage

The sneakers share the same foundational technical specs. This includes a black midsole with visible Air cushioning units in the heel and forefoot, and a thick, deeply lugged rubber outsole for traction. Nike notes that the visible Air technology dates back to the launch of the Air Max line in 1987.

The Goadome model originated in the late 1990s as part of Nike's ACG (All Conditions Gear) hiking boot line. The low-top version maintains that outdoor-ready construction with a shortened collar.

Release Context

These crocodile-embossed pairs are part of a broader fall rollout for the Goadome Low silhouette. Their release follows the upcoming Taller De Rafa collaboration, a distressed brown leather version slated for September 25. The two new colorways, arriving about two weeks later, offer a cleaner, more polished alternative to that worn-in collaborative look.
